Often prepared at the last minute, the suitcase can be a source of stress... and forgetfulness. Here is an overview of the essentials to put in it before going skiing.

For months you've been thinking about that weekend or that ski week... But as usual, caught up in the imperatives of everyday life or trapped by your not always exemplary sense of organisation, you're in a panic to pack your suitcase at the last minute. All you have to do is print this article and cross out the items as you go along. Thank you Altibus!

1. My ski clothes and equipment
This is usually the first thing to go when you arrive at the resort, as the desire to hit the slopes is the main motivation for your stay. But a little reminder never goes amiss. Pants, jacket, technical underwear, 2nd layer jacket, hat, headband, gloves, mittens, helmet, goggles and socks, as well as skis or snowboards, poles and boots for those who are already equipped... And the suitcase is already quite full! To limit the size of your suitcase, consider renting your ski clothes. They'll be delivered directly to your residence for the week.

2. My après-ski outfits
Your ski gear has already taken up 90% of the volume of your bag... But there's life after skiing. And going for an evening stroll around the resort in ski boots and a wetsuit is no panacea! That's why you need to make room for comfortable outfits that you can slip into at the end of the day. As well as for a nice "city" outfit if one - or even several - outings are in the offing...

3. My backpack
Out of the handbag or messenger bag you use every day, the backpack is your best ally in the resort. On the slopes, it protects snacks, picnics, creams, cell phones, documents, a change of clothes... The more organized will even have different pockets to avoid mixing sandwiches with pâté, silk gloves and tissues...

4. My swimsuit and towel
You might not think of this duo when planning your ski holiday, but it would be a shame not to take advantage of the ever-growing number of aquatic centers, pools, saunas, hammams and other spas in the resort because you forgot to pack your swimsuit.

5. My toiletry kit
Who said a week of skiing had to mean an unshaven beard and unbrushed hair? Ladies, if you don't need to burden yourself with 5 tubes of lipstick, nothing prevents you from traveling with the "vital minimum" and betting on your lip sticks, moisturizers and care products, as your hair and face are put to the test by the cold and the hat and/or helmet.

6. My Pharmacy Kit
Better safe than sorry! Focus on the essentials, namely Arnica, oil against aches and pains, aspirin, sore throat lozenges and "special blister" bandages. And why not use grandmother's good old bicarbonate of soda to dilute in a glass of water in case of difficult digestion after a well watered fondue?

7. My sun protections
Snow reflects 85% of UV rays, against only 35% for sand and 20% for water. High protection sun cream is therefore de rigueur. Don't forget your sunglasses, preferably with category 3 or even 4 lenses to filter UV rays as much as possible, and polarizing lenses to protect you from this important reflection and to increase contrasts.

8. My papers
As well as your identity card, which will be essential, don't forget the administrative documents relating to your protection and health, i.e. Carte Vitale, mutual insurance card and insurance (and passport photos) if you need them for your ski pass. And don't forget your train, plane or bus tickets booked on Altibus.com. And last but not least, make a note of the address and contact details of your accommodation (it's always annoying to arrive at a resort and not know where to put your bags).

9. My high-tech products
Think of your phone of course but also the camera (and its memory card), the tablet, the camera and all the chargers associated with these equipments, just to be both connected during your stay and to have all the tools to immortalize it in images.

10. My good mood
But for that, obviously no need to advise you! Suitcase closed, you can now enjoy!
